Meanwhile, Latin America faces a different challenge: managing dependence on Chinese technology infrastructure. Chinese companies like Huawei, ZTE, and SenseTime have expanded their involvement in telecommunications, video surveillance, and AI projects across the region. This expansion is part of China's broader "Digital Silk Road" strategy, which seeks to position Beijing in strategic sectors through 5G networks, data centers, cloud services, and AI platforms.
