How to Set Up Claude for Automated Inbox Management

• Enable Connectors: Link Claude to your Gmail account and Google Calendar through the official connectors available in the Claude app or web interface. Outlook users can access Claude through Microsoft's marketplace.
• Use the Schedule Feature: Type /schedule or click the plus sign to activate the scheduling skill, which enables cloud-based recurring tasks rather than device-dependent loops.
• Define Your Workflow: Write a prompt describing how you want Claude to manage your inbox, including frequency (every 5 minutes, hourly, daily) and specific actions like drafting replies or adding calendar events.
• Grant Necessary Permissions: Allow Claude to access Gmail, Google Calendar, and optionally Slack and Google Drive for additional context when drafting client responses.

She also recommended beginning with Claude Sonnet, Anthropic's faster model, and upgrading to Claude Opus if more advanced reasoning is required for complex email decisions.

These features require a paid Claude plan, but the investment appeals to professionals drowning in email volume. As Mukta observed, "I think I would find it hard to keep on top of the volume of stuff happening right now without [AI]." The system is designed with privacy in mind, asking permission each time it accesses sensitive inbox or calendar data.
