What Is Edge AI, and Why Are Chip Makers Racing to Own It?
Edge AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that run directly on devices, rather than sending data to distant cloud servers. A camera in a factory can recognize defects instantly without waiting for a cloud connection. A vehicle can detect obstacles and respond without relying on internet connectivity.
