AMD Backs Oxford Lab's Push Into Embodied AI and Robot Intelligence
AMD is committing up to £5 million in computing resources to support a new Oxford-based research lab focused on frontier artificial intelligence, with a specific emphasis on embodied AI systems like robots. The chipmaker has signed a memorandum of understanding with the British Open-ended Learning and Discovery Lab (BOLD), a collaboration between the University of Oxford, University College London, and Imperial College London, to provide infrastructure and technical expertise during the lab's first eighteen months of operation.
